Pokémon Sleep Quick Access Button
In my recent UI/UX project for Pokémon Sleep, I focused on addressing a key usability issue: inefficient menu navigation. The original interface required players to pass through multiple screens and loading sequences to access commonly used features, which introduced unnecessary friction and reduced overall engagement. To streamline this experience, I introduced a context-aware quick access button anchored on the main screen.
This multifunctional UI element displays the player’s screen name alongside their current level and serves as the entry point to a dropdown menu that smoothly extends from the button with an intuitive animation. Within this dropdown menu, players gain one-tap access to essential features, including the ingredients inventory, items inventory (for quick use of candies, incenses, and camp boosts), and the current team screen (to swap out Pokémon or view team stats). Additionally, a dedicated daily gift button allows players to instantly claim their daily rewards without navigating through the shop menu, further reducing friction and improving usability.
By consolidating these frequently accessed functions into a single, easy-to-reach dropdown, the redesign significantly reduces navigation time, minimizes cognitive load, and enhances overall task efficiency. Moreover, prominently displaying the player’s name on the quick access button encourages social interaction by enabling users to quickly share their identity with friends, simplifying the process of adding new connections. Overall, this redesign creates a more responsive, intuitive, and user-centered navigation flow that elevates the Pokémon Sleep user experience.
