Overview
Inkognido is a web3 gaming distribution platform designed to help players discover new games while enabling true ownership of in game assets.
The platform combines familiar marketplace patterns with blockchain functionality, allowing users to earn, trade, and convert digital items into real assets through an integrated ecosystem.
The Problem
Web3 gaming platforms often introduce complex systems that can feel unfamiliar and difficult for users to navigate.
The challenge was to design an experience that maintained the accessibility and usability of traditional platforms like Steam while introducing new concepts such as digital ownership and asset trading.
My Role
I was responsible for designing the core user experience of the platform, including layout structure, navigation, and overall visual direction.
My focus was on creating a familiar and intuitive interface that could support both mainstream players and emerging web3 features.
Process
Establishing Familiar Patterns
I began by analyzing existing game distribution platforms to understand what users expect from browsing, purchasing, and managing games.
This informed a structure that prioritizes clarity, accessibility, and ease of navigation.
Designing for Discovery
The homepage and browsing experience were designed to highlight featured titles, trending games, and categorized content, making it easy for users to explore new experiences.
Integrating Web3 Functionality
A key challenge was introducing blockchain based features without overwhelming the user.
The design integrates these elements seamlessly into the experience, allowing users to engage with digital ownership without disrupting familiar workflows.
Key Features
Game Discovery Experience
Designed a browsing system that highlights featured content, trending titles, and curated categories to encourage exploration.
Game Detail Experience
Designed a detailed game page that surfaces key information such as tags, blockchain association, ratings, core features, and asset conversion value.
This experience helps users quickly understand both the gameplay and the underlying web3 mechanics, making complex information more accessible and actionable.
Familiar Navigation Structure
Leveraged patterns from established platforms to reduce friction and make onboarding intuitive for new users.
Impact
The final design balances innovation with familiarity, making web3 concepts more approachable for a broader audience.
By aligning the experience with established gaming platforms, the product lowers the barrier to entry while supporting scalable future features.
Reflection
This project strengthened my ability to design for emerging technologies while maintaining a strong focus on usability.
It reinforced the importance of grounding new concepts in familiar patterns to create experiences that feel both innovative and intuitive.
