Overview

Timing AI is a personal growth app designed to help users better understand their daily energy through insights, journaling, and guided interactions.

As the sole designer, I was responsible for shaping the product’s user experience from the ground up, including onboarding, core UI, and overall visual direction.

The Problem

The product lacked a cohesive design system and clear user flow, making it difficult for users to navigate key features such as journaling and energy insights.

Important functionality existed, but the experience felt fragmented and lacked visual consistency.

My Role

I led all UI/UX design efforts as the sole designer, working closely with product and engineering to define user flows, create a scalable design system, and improve the overall product experience.

Process

Understanding The Product

I began by reviewing existing screens and identifying inconsistencies in layout, hierarchy, and navigation. This helped define the foundation for a more unified experience.

Designing the Core Experience

I focused on refining key product areas including creating an onboarding system, the main dashboard, and the “Discover More” experience to improve usability and engagement.

Building a Design System

To ensure consistency, I developed a scalable design system including iconography, UI components, and visual patterns that could support future product growth.

Key Features

Discover More

Redesigned to improve feature visibility and encourage deeper user interaction.

Quick Access Journal Flow

Simplified interactions to make journaling more intuitive and accessible.

Onboarding

Created a clear and engaging first-time user experience.

Impact

The redesigned experience improved visual consistency, clarified navigation, and established a strong foundation for future feature development.

The design system enabled faster iteration and more scalable product growth.

Reflection

Working as the sole designer in an early-stage startup taught me how to balance speed and structure while building scalable product experiences.

This experience strengthened my ability to take ownership, collaborate cross-functionally, and design with both user needs and product goals in mind.
